As an Orientation Leader, you will play a pivotal role in fostering transformative experiences for new students at UAF. This position supports and guides students through their college journey, promoting personal growth, academic success, and community involvement. The position will focus their efforts during the Fall 2025 Orientation and the Spring 2026 Orientation.

Fall Orientation Leader Training: August 15-20, 2025
Fall New Student Orientation: August 21-24,2025
Spring Orientation Leader Training: January 7-8, 2026
Spring New Student Orientation: January 9, 2026

Must be enrolled as a full-time student at UAF for Fall 2025 and, ideally, Spring 2026.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with of students and university staff.
Passion for supporting peers in their journey toward academic success and personal development.
Preference for candidates with a demonstrated commitment to service of others and/or community.
Preference for candidates with previous leadership or mentoring experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicant must be enrolled as a UAF student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks.

This is a Student Assistant 2 Position, minimum starting pay is $18.00 per hour. 

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
