My professional journey with UAA began with contacting a Talent Acquisition Specialist, and this initial step has undoubtedly been pivotal in shaping my career. The onboarding experience was remarkably straightforward, as every question I had was met with transparency and thoroughness. After spending some time as a full-time staff member, I am genuinely thrilled with my choice to be a part of the UAA family.

I have been working for UAA for almost two years now. My overall experience started with a very informative and welcoming Zoom engagement from the Talent Acquisition Team. Talent Acquisition helped me navigate the career portal and learn more about the University's expansive career opportunities. Fast forward, I landed the job I have now within the Alaska Small Business Development Center. Everyone along the way from onboarding, to benefits overview, to my promotion as the Mat-Su Center Director, has been exceptional.
After moving to Homer from Los Angeles, I quickly found my place at Kachemak Bay Campus, where I registered for a full schedule of classes within an hour of arriving in the advisor's office. After three years as a student, I applied for a job at KBC and have thrived in my role, feeling deeply connected to the community. The people I work with feel like family, and I love that my position allows me to grow our public programs in significant ways. Having previously run multiple programs over dozens of school districts in a major metropolitan city, I never thought I’d find that kind of fulfillment again, but I have here at KBC.
