Looking for an Administrative Assistance position where you can use your organizational and good customer service skills with an amazing team of professional workforce training staff dedicated to supporting service agencies with staff training that impacts and improves quality of life for people with disabilities and their families? The UAA Center for Human Development’s (CHD) Family Services Training Center and the Alaska Training Cooperative is looking for an Administrative Assistant who is highly organized, able to track many program details, have great customer service abilities & problem-solving skills and work with many different personalities with patience and grace.

The UAA Center for Human Development (CHD) is looking for an Administrative Assistant to help our two main workforce training programs with supporting training participants through registration steps, assist with making training materials accessible, compile and gather continuing education documents, manage outreach/marketing events in the community and at conferences, and assist with internal inventory, ordering, packing, assembling and shipping for program trainings and outreach.

The mission of the UAA Center for Human Development (CHD) is to improve the quality of lives for people who experience disabilities and their families, across the life span, through interdisciplinary training, technical assistance, exemplary service development, applied research and dissemination of information. The goals and activities of CHD are guided by the values of integration and inclusion, self-determination, individual and family empowerment, cultural sensitivity, diversity, community referencing, independence, and productivity.

To be successful in this role, the Administrative Assistant needs to be highly organized, able to track many program details, have great customer service abilities & problem-solving skills and work with many different personalities with patience and grace.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduation and three years progressively responsible office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in using typical software applications, such as Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Adobe, other PDF applications, etc.


Preference: Experience with Blackboard/Genius learning management tool and/or registration systems.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, non-exempt, term-funded staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
