Term Assistant Professor of Social Work

We seek a faculty member who's a versatile, independent colleague who can teach an array of courses in both BSW and MSW programs. We seek a colleague with a strong commitment and the ability to forward anti-oppressive, decolonizing, anti-racist teaching, equitable, and inclusive teaching and service essential to community needs. An experience or interest in children and adolescent behavioral health or medical social work, will be considered an added advantage. Must have clinical social worker license in Alaska or be eligible for clinical licensure in Alaska.

To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate would bring:
Experience in teaching in undergraduate and graduate social work programs
Experience in distance-delivered instruction and use of on-line instructional technologies
Substantial post MSW practice experience in Alaska.
Substantial post MSW practice experience working with vulnerable communities
Experience or interest in children and adolescent behavioral health or medical social work, and
Licensed clinical social worker in Alaska or eligible for clinical licensure in Alaska

Minimum Qualifications:

MSW from a CSWE- accredited school of social work.
Two years’ post-MSW practice experience.
Depth of knowledge of at least one field of practice.
Competencies in generalist and advanced generalist social work.
Demonstrated background in working effectively with diverse students/clients/constituents.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, 9-month, represented, term-funded position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
