Full Stack Developer

As our Full Stack Developer, you’ll build and maintain the templates, components, and web applications behind UA System Office and UAF websites - primarily in Modern Campus CMS. You’ll work with developers, technical teams, and university stakeholders to create new features, applications, integrations, APIs, and services that address real institutional needs.

This is a development-focused role with meaningful ownership and influence. Our environment includes Modern Campus CMS, custom web applications, APIs and system integrations, monitoring, and hundreds of university websites. The team supports UA System Office and UAF while providing shared web services and technical expertise across the university system.

Accessibility, security, performance, and maintainability are fundamental to our work. You’ll develop solutions that meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, follow secure development practices, integrate with enterprise systems, and operate reliably at scale.

We’re looking for an experienced developer who enjoys solving complex problems across front-end and back-end technologies and wants to build and improve web platforms. This role offers the opportunity to see your work directly impact users across the university.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, software engineering or related field or equivalent education and experience.

A minimum of two (2) years of experience involving:
Experience programming web applications/CMS knowledge and experience.
Experience operating, maintaining, and supporting web applications. Front-end (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) knowledge or experience

Experience gathering requirements, planning and documenting work, and leading the development of web projects.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 81, based on education and experience.

This position requires working 8:00 AM–5:00 PM AKT
