Simulation Operations Coordinator

The Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center (IHSSC) is seeking a Simulation Operations Coordinator to lead simulation operations planning for UAA College of Health programs located at outreach campuses across Alaska. This newly redesigned role is ideal for someone who's tech-savvy, enjoys travel in Alaska, has a track record managing multi-stakeholder projects, and is committed to advancing healthcare education in rural communities.

To thrive in this role, you will need technical competence paired with strong interpersonal skills. You will need to be comfortable diagnosing and resolving equipment issues in person or remotely. Just as important is the ability to teach: faculty at outreach campuses will look to you not just to fix problems, but to build their own confidence with simulation technology over time so they can incorporate it into skills labs. Because you'll be balancing multiple sites, strong communication and prioritization skills are needed. Above all, this role is for someone who finds genuine satisfaction in problem-solving on the fly and planning projects with multiple stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Hold or be able to obtain certification as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist.
Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.

Preferred Experience:
18 months or more of simulation operations experience preferred.
Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
Experience with AV systems preferred.
Experience with successfully coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders preferred.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.

A valid Alaska Driver's License and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
