Student Services Manager

Kodiak College is seeking applicants for a Student Services Manager to provide leadership, administrative oversight, and operational direction for the university's academic advising. The position is responsible for creating, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive, student-centered advising model that supports undergraduate students across all stages of the academic lifecycle-from initial enrollment through degree completion.

To thrive in this role this position will have the ability to supervise employees, to lead and motivate work groups, and to manage this department. Must have strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and groups, and mediate conflict. Should have knowledge of student development theory and possess the ability to interpret information to determine placement, ability to determine appropriateness of exception requests. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, processes, policies, and regulations.

Preferred:
Demonstrated passion for holistic academic advising services in higher education.
Strong knowledge of UAA academic advising philosophy and practices, University programs, student success and/or development initiatives, policies and procedures, and campus support services,.
Formal supervisory or program leadership experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years progressively responsible experience in academic advising or closely-related student support service in higher education, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Master's degree preferred.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Kodiak College campus on Kodiak Island. This is a full-time, term exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
