Fiscal Technician 3 - Cashier

Position summary:

The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) Office of the Bursar is seeking a cashier to join us as a key team member responsible for managing university receipts, deposits, cashiering operations, and customer service. This position offers a unique opportunity to assist students and departments by ensuring smooth financial operations through accurate processing, training, and guidance on departmental deposits, receivables, and cashiering transactions. This is a front-facing position that interacts with students, employees, and the general public.

This position serves as the primary point of contact for UAS receipts and deposits, verifying and posting departmental deposits, resolving payment discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to UA Cash Management policies and GAAP. The UAS Office of the Bursar provides exceptional customer service through phone, email and in-person support. To thrive in this role, you must be a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional with strong financial and administrative skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma, or equivalent; and 6 months of experience in customer service.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
