Kenai Peninsula College is seeking a dedicated and skilled Custodial Maintenance Service Worker to join our team in Soldotna. This full-time, 40-hour per week, position plays a vital role in helping to maintain our campus facilities to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Custodial Maintenance Service Worker is responsible for providing comprehensive custodial services and maintenance support throughout the Kenai Peninsula College campus. Your duties will include performing floor maintenance such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, carpet cleaning, stripping, and waxing; removing trash from rooms, buildings, and grounds; operating maintenance vehicles and equipment including snow removal and yard maintenance equipment; changing light bulbs and air filters; lubricating mechanical equipment; safely handling and cleaning potential biohazards; performing grounds maintenance including lawn care and snow/ice removal; assisting with general facilities maintenance tasks; fabricating and repairing structures like counters and partitions; operating and maintaining pipe systems; using hand tools and motorized equipment; maintaining inventory systems; monitoring boiler systems; and potentially leading other maintenance staff as needed. This position requires the employee to work occasional nights and weekends based on business needs.
The ideal candidate for this position possesses strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. You should be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions, complete necessary paperwork in both physical and digital formats, and demonstrate proficiency with custodial tools and equipment. We're looking for someone who shows commitment to their work, accepts direction well, and is able to work flexible hours as needed. The successful applicant will have experience in commercial facilities custodial tasks, using manual and power cleaning equipment, grounds maintenance, working with cleaning chemicals, safely handling biohazards, performing general labor assignments, and operating various vehicles and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certificate of Completion from technical school and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicant must possess a current, unrestricted Alaska driver's license or be able to obtain an unrestricted Alaska driver's license within 60 days of accepting the job.

Position Details:
This position is located on the Kenai Peninsula College campus in Soldotna. This is a full-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
