Assistant Professor of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) invites applications from exceptional Organic Chemistry candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor, starting January 2025. This appointment comes with 9 months of annual support. The position is located in Anchorage, Alaska.

The UAA Chemistry Department offers undergraduate studies in general, organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and biochemistry. Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. Applicants must have experience teaching lower-division chemistry courses and the upper-division Organic Chemistry sequence as instructor of record.

Applicants should have prior experience teaching lower- and upper-division Chemistry courses as instructor of record. Have experience undertaking meaningful service activities, including undergraduate mentorship. Demonstrate experience with curriculum development, utilizing open educational resources (OER) and/or zero-textbook cost (ZTC) approaches.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, Alaska. Applicants must be able to relocate to Anchorage, Alaska by the position start date. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
