About the position:

The University of Alaska Southeast School of Arts & Sciences is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to serve as the primary point of contact for the Anderson Building while providing comprehensive administrative support to faculty, staff, and students. This full-time position plays a vital role in coordinating course scheduling for the School of Arts & Sciences, managing general office operations, and developing website content. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple projects in a dynamic academic environment that serves the diverse communities of Southeast Alaska.

You should possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Experience with administrative support tasks requiring independent judgment and problem-solving capabilities will serve you well in this role. Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills, will enable you to effectively collaborate with faculty, staff, and students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Web publishing experience and content management skills are valued, but not required. The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment will ensure your success in supporting our dynamic academic community.

Minimum Qualifications:

A High School diploma and three (3) years progressively responsible office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
