Kenai Peninsula College is seeking a dedicated and skilled Custodial Maintenance Service Worker to join our team in Soldotna. This 40-hour per week position plays a vital role in helping to maintain our campus facilities to ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. The Custodial Maintenance Service Worker III role within the Kenai Peninsula College Facilities Services department is essential for upholding the cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency of campus facilities. This position involves a blend of custodial duties, grounds maintenance, and general labor to support a vibrant academic environment, ensuring that students, faculty, staff, and visitors experience well-maintained spaces that foster learning and community.

To succeed in this position, candidates should demonstrate strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills to engage effectively with a diverse campus population, while showing reliability through punctuality, commitment to tasks, and openness to supervisory feedback. Hands-on experience with commercial cleaning techniques—such as sanitizing bathrooms, operating power equipment like floor scrubbers and vacuums, and handling grounds tasks including snow removal and lawn care—will be key. A proven track record in roles requiring trust and responsibility, coupled with comfort working around chemicals and biohazards, will enable you to contribute proactively to a safe and organized facilities team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certificate of Completion from technical school and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Physical capability to lift up to 70 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.

The ability to adapt to flexible schedules encompassing early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Applicant must possess a current, unrestricted Alaska driver's license, or be able to obtain an unrestricted Alaska driver's license within 60 days of accepting the job.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Kenai Peninsula College campus in Soldotna, AK. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
