R/V Sikuliaq, pronounced [see-KOO-lee-auk], is a 261-foot oceanographic research ship capable of bringing scientists to the ice-choked waters of Alaska and the polar regions. Sikuliaq, one of the most advanced university research vessels in the world, is able to break ice 2.5 feet thick. She’s considered a “Global” class ship and in the past year has helped conduct research from above the Arctic circle, to the tropics, including Tahiti and Hawaii, to Antarctica, South America, and back to the Arctic. Constructed in Marinette, Wisconsin, Sikuliaq is homeported in Seward, Alaska, at UAF's Seward Marine Center.

The Service Desk is a member of the Nanook Technology Services team and serves UAF and UA customers as the first point of contact for technology support. You will work directly with students, faculty, and staff to understand their needs and resolve issues with desktops, laptops, applications, resource access, and more! Growth in this role includes developing expertise across the portfolio of technology services UAF and OIT offer, including Canvas, Blackboard, and Google Suite. You will use that knowledge to assist customers on the phone, over chat, in person, through emails, and via the service request platform. The Ground Station Operators (GSOs) at the Alaska Satellite Facility monitor NASA-owned satellite-tracking antennas on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. They oversee real-time antenna tracking, data downlinking, and command uplinking for Earth Observing Satellites. They work closely with the Ground Station Engineers and assist in troubleshooting any anomalies that arise during their shift. As a GSO, you will work four 10-hour days. The ground station is operated 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Director of Research & Development provides strategic and administrative leadership for the Alaska Critical Mineral Accelerator's Research & Development functional area and serves on the organization's leadership team. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Director is responsible for the strategic planning, development, coordination, implementation, and assessment of ACMA's enterprise-wide research and development strategy in support of the National Science Foundation Regional Innovation Engine. ASF is hiring a Data Steward to help manage and grow our archive of NASA Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data that is now over 30 petabytes. In this role, you’ll keep our ingest and archive systems healthy, monitor data flows, troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, and ensure our archive stays accurate, complete, and well-documented. You’ll also work directly with NASA and external data providers to define metadata standards, shape data agreements, and make sure new datasets integrate smoothly into our systems.
