Join the Design and Construction team at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and help support projects that shape and improve our campus community! We are seeking an organized, customer-service focused Office Assistant who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced office environment.

In this role, you will provide administrative, clerical, and customer service support for project teams, including assisting with project documentation, records management, scheduling, office coordination, and general office operations. This position also serves as a primary point of contact for visitors, contractors, consultants, and campus partners while helping maintain an efficient and professional office environment.

To thrive in this role, you should have strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, office equipment, multi-line phone systems, and electronic recordkeeping systems, along with the ability to maintain accurate files and documentation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently while exercising sound judgment and initiative, and comfortable communicating professionally in person, over the phone, and through written correspondence. Experience supporting office operations within facilities maintenance, construction, or a related environment is highly valued.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduation and two years office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Customer service experience is required. Must possess a valid Alaska Drivers License.

Position Details:

This is a term-funded, full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 76, based on education and experience.

This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
