This position has oversight and supervision of the following departments within the College of Indigenous Studies: Rural Student Services, Eileen Panigeo MacLean House and the Rural Alaska Honors Institute. These departments serve as the strategic purpose and are committed to supporting Indigenous students throughout the university experience in reaching their highest potential in a culturally responsive environment.

The Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, assessing and administering services and programming in support of Indigenous learners.  This position provides leadership, guidance, mentorship, and strategic direction to staff with specific attention to student success, engagement, and retention.  Also plays a key leadership role in coordinating the development and delivery of services for Indigenous learners.

To thrive in this role, applicant should have experience working in a post-secondary environment and the ability to work effectively with Indigenous communities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in a related field and five years progressively responsible higher education experience and three years management experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus in Fairbanks. This is a regular, full-time, 12 month, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 83, based on education and experience.
