The University of Alaska Human Resources department is looking for a part-time office assistant to perform general office duties in Fairbanks. The position is located on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus in the Butrovich Building and offers 20 hours/week split into 3-4 days, based on the candidate's availability.

Duties may include:

  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Welcome and assist customers
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings
  • Maintain a clean and organized office area
  • Handling basic inquiries
  • Ensure security by following procedures, monitoring logbooks, and issuing visitor badges
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, and filing documents
  • Manage office supplies and place orders when necessary
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Project assistance
  • Assisting HR team members with administrative tasks, including reports and travel requests

A successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Knowledge of professional office methods and practices

  • Professional attitude and appearance

Minimum Qualifications:

Previous experience in an office setting is preferred
Customer service experience is preferred

Position Details:

This is a part-time, non-exempt temporary staff position located in Fairbanks.  Temporary employees hired at 30+ hours per week are eligible for certain benefits. New hires will be placed on the UA Temporary Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 76.
