The University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking a Facilities Business Support Specialist to provide administrative, fiscal, and customer support to Facilities & Campus Services. This position supports work management coordination, budget and procurement activities, customer service, and human resources processes that are essential to maintaining UAA’s campus facilities and infrastructure. The Facilities Business Support Specialist works closely with facilities leadership, supervisors, and staff to ensure accurate data, responsive service delivery, and effective business operations across the Anchorage campus and community campuses. The position is based in Anchorage, AK, and offers a collaborative work environment supporting the mission of UAA.

The Facilities Business Support Specialist provides essential business, administrative, and customer service support functions for Facilities & Campus Services (FCS). Operating under general supervision, this position serves as a central point of coordination for work management, fiscal support, human resources processing, and customer service activities across multiple facilities units. The role supports day to day business operations by maintaining accurate records, coordinating work requests, assisting with budgeting and procurement processes, and ensuring responsive service to campus customers. This position plays a critical role in supporting operational continuity, data accuracy, and effective communication across Facilities departments.

Successful candidates will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast paced, service oriented environment. The role requires working knowledge of administrative and fiscal processes within a public organization and the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines. Familiarity with integrated work management systems (IWMS/CMMS), financial and accounting systems, and standard office software is important. The position also requires effective communication skills, a customer focused mindset, and the ability to collaborate with diverse campus stakeholders, including facilities staff, vendors, contractors, and the broader university community. Proficiency in UAA’s Core Competencies, including accountability, intercultural awareness, and ethical responsibility, is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Related experience includes fiscal support, administrative services, data entry, clerical functions, and/or work management–type positions.

An unrestricted Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria may be required. 

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAA Main campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
