UAA's College of Engineering Dean's Office is seeking a Student Assistant! This position is perfect for someone who enjoys variety where each day has the potential to be different than the one before. This position is also a great opportunity to gain experience working in an office environment and customer service.

This position will serve as support for various units within the College of Engineering (CoEng) Dean’s Office with specific tasks assigned by staff members which may include but is not limited to: assist with the weekly CoEng Professional Development Seminar Series, provide administrative/clerical support for Student Services and Advising, assist with weekly donor thank you letters, assist with document management, answer questions and phone calls, assist visitors to the Dean’s Office or Student Services and Advising office, provide customer service to students and employees, assist with setup and takedown for CoEng events and other duties as assigned.

To thrive in this role, applicant must have good oral and written communication, be organized and demonstrate attention to details, be able to work independently on assigned tasks while also working as part of a team, be able to meet deadlines, be dependable, and have good customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:
a. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment;
or
b. Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters;
and
c. Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs or their designee.

Position Details:

This is a Student Assistant 2 position located on UAA's main campus in Anchorage, AK. Pay is $12.52/hour for undergraduate students and $18.50/hour for graduate students.

This position is per semester (fall/spring) and may be eligible for renewal each semester (fall/spring). Position is up to 20 hours per week during the semester and the schedule is flexible with the ability to work around class schedules during normal office hours (Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm). Must be able to work between 11am to 1pm on Fridays during fall/spring semesters. This position may also work during the summer semester. If hired during the summer, work hours may increase up to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the office.
