The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is recruiting for the position of Assistant Director of Student Conduct & Ethical Development. UAA’s Assistant Director of Student Conduct & Ethical Development is a leader in the Dean of Students Office. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Student Conduct & Ethical Development. The candidate assists to provide leadership, vision, and development for the overall direction of student conduct and ethical development for the University of Alaska Anchorage MAU. The candidate provides overall coordination of administrative processes and procedures for UAA’s student discipline process. Primary duties include serving as a student conduct administrator, overseeing the Maxient online student conduct database, serving as UAA’s expert on academic integrity, and supervising Dean of Students Office student staff members. The Assistant Director of Student Conduct & Ethical Development is a 40-hour per week, 12-month, regular position.

To thrive in this role, a candidate must bring a strong foundation in student conduct standards, student development theory, and relevant federal regulations such as FERPA, Title IX, and the Clery Act. Success requires exceptional interpersonal and investigative skills, including the ability to conduct interviews, analyze facts, and apply policy with sound judgment and discretion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the university and community, maintain professionalism in stressful situations, and communicate clearly in writing. Strong organizational abilities, proficiency with office technologies and database systems, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision are also essential to managing the workload and supporting a safe and productive educational environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and four years of progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferably, candidates will have a master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, educational leadership, college student personnel, or a related field. Experience complying with the Clery Act, Title IX, and/or Drug Free Schools and Communities Act is highly preferred. Prior experience serving on a behavior intervention team is preferred.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
