This position will work with the Alaska Manufacturing Extension Partnership (AMEP) to support the internal operations of the organization and assist in the successful implementation of strategic initiatives including sales and service delivery.

The Alaska MEP seeks to add a highly dynamic Associate Director to our MEP team to place greater emphasis on client services and achieving MEP client goals. The Associate Director will be expected to grow the number of manufacturers engaged and the business services provided to manufacturers in Alaska. While supporting the state of Alaska, the Alaska MEP is hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and is one of the UAA Business Enterprise Institute (BEI) centers. The UAA BEI mission is to develop and diversify the economy of Alaska.

To thrive in this role, the ideal applicant will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and will possess strong project management and sales experience. The applicant will excel in both administrative operations and client-facing activities, forming relationships and identifying client needs to match them with AMEP services and training. The successful candidate will support leadership in aligning organizational resources with key objectives, driving operational efficiency, and contributing to the achievement of Alaska MEP's mission while also playing a key role in expanding the organization's client base and service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

● A Bachelor’s Degree in business management, marketing, industrial management, engineering, or a related field is required. Six years progressively responsible experience. Advanced degree preferred.

● Applicants having an equivalent or relatable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
● Knowledge of manufacturing and business development best practices and trends.
● Deep consultative sales skills, past achievements, and direct relevance to this assignment.
● Demonstrates and is proficient in directing activities and managing the performance of highly skilled technical professionals & field staff.
● Ability to recommend process improvements, commitment to performance excellence.
● Superior organizational and project management skills.
● Possess solid knowledge of manufacturing issues/challenges, and the ability to deliver solutions/improvement opportunities.
● Ability to mentor, monitor, and manage sales team or staff member performance.
● Maintenance of high workload of client sales prospects, proposals and active contracts.
● Strong operational knowledge of sales systems including tools, software, and performance dashboards.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 82, based on education and experience.
