We are recruiting for a Program Manager. This position will manage and oversee ANSEP's University Success component on the UAF campus in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Our University Success component is an academic learning community composed of students, faculty, staff, and external partners who are focused on each student's academic success and personal and professional development. Students are co-enrolled in classes, participate in organized study groups, have peer and professional mentoring opportunities, complete undergraduate research projects, work summer internships, and participate in planned group social activities. ANSEP students understand the importance of community and teamwork in working together to be successful.

To excel in this role, the candidate should have experience working with students in K-12 or University settings. The candidate should have experience working in a highly regulated environment where they are used to following policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. The candidate should also have experience managing a budget and supervising staff. This position handles travel coordination and data management, so experience in both is preferred. Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills are a plus!

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years college coursework and three years progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate solid knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; database programs; grants and federal reporting requirements; and the fundamentals of budgeting and the granting process. A strong working knowledge of Google Workspace tools (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms, etc.) is essential. Candidates must also possess the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data; create clear and comprehensive reports; and understand and resolve complex problems. Strong oral and written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to design and deliver training or orientation sessions, identify areas of non-compliance, and effectively lead or supervise student employees.

Preferences:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Proficiency with Google Suites.
• Experience with Banner, NextGen, Canvas, etc.
• Experience with advising.
• Experience working with rural and/or Indigenous Alaska populations


Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
