Serve as the centralized heart of campus activity at Alaska’s flagship university! You will be the primary contact and expert system administrator for the university-wide 25Live event scheduling and room reservation platform. In this role, you will deliver exceptional customer service and technical support to students, faculty, staff, and community members. Beyond managing campus reservations, you will collaborate closely with campus units and event teams to plan, coordinate, and execute events of every scale—from intimate donor gatherings and departmental meetings to major institutional traditions like Commencement and community celebrations. The UAF Events Coordinator is a full-time, non-exempt staff position within University Relations, a vibrant department housed under University Advancement.
At University Advancement, advancement means progress. We are storytellers, relationship builders, and strategists. We connect alumni, donors, campus partners, and the broader community to UAF in meaningful ways. Within University Relations, our events team brings the campus to life by driving institutional signature events—such as Convocation, Blue & Gold, Chancellor Events and Commencement—while keeping campus venue usage seamless and accessible for everyone.
You’ll work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and supportive environment where no two days are the same. While on-site presence is essential to support live events and face-to-face campus coordination, our team values balance, continuous communication, and team-driven support.
As the primary super-user and administrator for campus scheduling, you will gain visibility across academic, administrative, and student life departments. This role builds deep institutional knowledge, project management expertise, and leadership capabilities in event operations, database management, and university governance.
You’ll directly solve complex scheduling puzzles across a diverse, multi-venue campus, working hand-in-hand with Facilities Services, Catering, OIT, Risk Management, and Public Safety. You will also develop campus user guides, lead 25Live training sessions, and analyze venue utilization data to help shape UAF space management policies.
Located at the flagship campus in Fairbanks, UAF offers an inclusive, welcoming work culture committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and innovation. UAF provides comprehensive University of Alaska Total Rewards benefits, including healthcare, generous paid time off, tuition waivers, retirement plans, and a healthy work/life balance.
To thrive in this role, you must be a naturally methodical problem-solver who excels in high-touch customer service and complex logistics. You will act as the operational bridge across the entire campus community, serving as the central hub for event requests and room reservations for students, faculty, staff, leadership, and external partners alike. Success as our UAF Events Coordinator requires a meticulous attention to detail and strong technical fluency to manage relational databases like 25Live and Banner. Beyond mastering scheduling systems, top candidates possess clear, approachable communication skills, a high degree of patience, and the adaptive confidence to resolve scheduling conflicts under pressure while maintaining key relationships. Culturally, we look for proactive collaborators—individuals who take initiative, value teamwork and inclusivity, and take pride in seamlessly supporting events that bring our campus community together.
What makes this opportunity truly special is the vital impact you will have on the life and traditions of Alaska’s flagship university. Housed within University Relations under University Advancement, your work directly fuels community connection, donor engagement, and student success across the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks. As the primary administrator for 25Live, you aren't just assigning rooms; you are curating the spaces where life-changing research is shared, traditions like Commencement unfold, and lasting relationships are built. University Advancement tells the UAF story, and in this role, you help set the stage for that story to happen every day.
In addition to meaningful work, this position offers a stable full-time, non-exempt schedule (Grade 77, starting at $23.38/hour) in a supportive, collaborative environment on our vibrant Fairbanks campus.
