The Assistant Professor of Social Work is a tenure-track faculty position responsible for teaching, research, and service within a college or university's Social Work Department. The position involves delivering high-quality instruction at undergraduate and/or graduate levels, contributing to curriculum development, and fostering student learning and professional growth.

To thrive in this role applicants should possess the following:

- strong Knowledge Base: A deep understanding of social work theory, practice, policy, and research methods.
- Educational Pedagogy: Skills in engaging and effective teaching, with the ability to connect with diverse student populations.
- Research Competence: Ability to design, conduct, and publish original research that advances the field of social work.
- Clinical Experience: At least two years of post-MSW practice experience to bridge classroom teaching with real-world application.
- Two years post-MSW practice experience.
- Student-Centered Approach: Commitment to mentoring and fostering the academic and professional growth of students.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with colleagues, both within the department and across the institution.
- Communication: Clear and empathetic communication skills to connect with students, colleagues, and community partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program. 2 years of post-MSW practice experience required
• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
• 2-years, post MSW practice experience
• Experience in field education or student supervision.
• Knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards and EPAS requirements.
• Experience teaching/training


Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a 9 month Term Faculty position with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
