The University of Alaska Anchorage School of Preventive and Therapeutic Sciences is seeking an innovative and energetic individual to serve as Term Assistant or Associate Professor of Dental Hygiene.
We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated didactic and/or clinical teaching experience, as well as a proven record of prior instruction that reflects a strong commitment to student-centered learning, active student engagement, and teaching excellence. The ideal applicant will have experience working in, or leading multicultural environments and will exhibit a clear dedication to advancing the mission of the College of Health, while effectively supporting the diverse student body, faculty, and staff of the University of Alaska Anchorage. Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, along with a high level of computer literacy.
This position requires didactic and/or experiential teaching experience, along with a commitment to student-centered learning, student engagement, and teaching excellence. It also requires experience working in multicultural settings, advising students, assessing learning outcomes, and the ability to support the mission of the College of Health and UAA. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as computer literacy, are essential.

Minimum Qualifications:
•A bachelor's degree or higher in dental hygiene or related field by time of hire
•Current (or can obtain by August 15th 2025) Alaska Dental Hygiene or Dental License
•Current or can obtain by August 15th 2025) Alaska certification in Local Anesthesia (or Alaska Dental license)
•Basic life support certification or equivalent by time of hire
Preferred Credentials:
•A master's degree or higher in dental hygiene or related field by time of hire
•State of Alaska Dental Hygiene Restorative Function endorsement
•State of Alaska Dental Hygiene Nitrous Oxide certificate
Position Details:
This position is located on the Goose Lake campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, term funded, 9- month exempt faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be compensated based on education and experience.
