The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) School of Social Work is continuing to grow! We are currently recruiting one full time tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin August 2025. This position is responsible for teaching, advancing research, and providing professional service to address social and health inequities experienced by Alaskans.
As a tenure-track faculty in the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) School of Social Work, you will have the opportunity to teach courses in both the BSW and MSW programs. Our faculty support our school's mission of engaging in decolonizing and anti-oppressive teaching and research while focusing on community engagement and a commitment to social justice. You will work independently and collaboratively with colleagues to produce high-quality research and dissemination that benefits Alaskans, the circumpolar North, and beyond.
To thrive in this role, candidates must have experience working with diverse students, supporting student persistence, and assisting students in achieving academic and professional success. Additionally, it is essential that faculty can meld an individual research program with practicing ethical, inclusive, and trauma-informed instruction while creating external relationships to meet the needs of our students, communities, and state. Individuals who are self-motivated, student-centered, and strive for excellence in teaching, research, and service through collaboration, adaptability, and creativity will flourish within UAA's School of Social Work.
Minimum Qualifications:
MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program and an earned Ph.D. in social work or a related field or DSW. ABD will be considered if degree is anticipated prior to start date.
A documented minimum of two (2) years full-time post MSW practice experience.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, 9-month, represented tenure-track position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
