The student assistant role requires proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Google Suite, and internet-based research. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential, alongside adherence to confidentiality protocols. Works under general direction. Exercises independent judgment in problem-solving. Examples of typical work include troubleshooting device and/or network issues, issuing devices for loan, assisting in writing reports, assisting with projects, and other related tasks. May be responsible for an activity or program. May coordinate the use of equipment, building space, or programs.
Familiarity with general office procedures, including accurate typing and filing, is helpful. Operating office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and computers is expected. Strong communication skills are necessary for customer interactions.
Overall, the student assistant ensures smooth operations by combining technical skills with attention to detail and effective communication, supporting organizational goals effectively.
To thrive in this student assistant role, one must excel in maintaining confidentiality and security, possess strong general office and clerical skills (including typing and filing), be proficient with office equipment, and possess communication skills to effectively communicate with the KuC community. Attention to detail, adaptability, and a proactive approach are also key to succeeding in this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be enrolled with a minimum of 6 credit hours and have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Kuskokwim campus in Bethel. This is a Part-time student position, starting at $19.37 an hour. This position includes the added benefit of tuition, fees, and material covered for two credits an academic year.
