The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is recruiting for a Temporary Nurse Practitioner for the Student Health and Counseling Center. This position engages directly with students on campus and helps promote health and wellness while providing quality health care services. The Temporary Nurse Practitioner position will work with independently diagnosing and treating complex conditions while adhering to HIPAA regulations. This position is under the UAA Student Health and Counseling Center which is a part of the Office of Student Affairs.
To thrive in this role a successful candidate would have significant, relevant clinical experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience in the field of medicine as a nurse practitioner. Skills that will be needed will be advanced physical health assessment skills, accurate medical diagnostic skills, excellent communication and counseling skills, clinical laboratory skills, medical and legal documentation skills, and presentation/public speaking skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing
State of Alaska licensure as Advanced Nurse Practitioner
National Certification (e.g. ANCC or AANP)
Significant relevant clinical experience
Experience in a student health center preferred
DEA - current or ability to obtain
Position Details:
This is a part-time, non-exempt temporary staff position. New hires will be placed on the UA Temp Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 82, based on education and experience.
