Apply to join our dynamic team as a Technology Implementation Specialist! As a part of the Nanook Technology Services Systems Engineering group, you will be a part of a mighty team dedicated to improving the digital experience at UAF.
We are hiring for two postions. These positions are Term-Funded and reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
In this role, you will assist various UAF departments in implementing and managing new and existing software services. You will collaborate with department heads, statewide OIT staff, and external vendors to ensure smooth integration and optimal use of technology solutions.

• Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Ability to develop and deliver training materials and workshops.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
To thrive in this role, you will bring passion to understanding department/user needs and connecting them with larger university strategies. You are adept at translating business needs into abstracted feature needs and will do the leg work needed to communicate these needs to involved stakeholders and vendors.
Your Key Responsibilities will be:
• Liaise with software vendors and manage relationships.
• Assist departments in the selection, and configuration of software services.
• Provide ongoing technical support to departments.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and best practices.
• Handle technical service tickets
• Occasional front-end and CMS projects, as well as participating in testing during
implementations.
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively
with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Deep sense of care for the UAF community and a passion for improving the digital
experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a
related field (preferred).
• Minimum of three years of experience in technology implementation or a similar role.
• Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple projects
simultaneously.
• Some proficiency in software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to develop and deliver training materials and workshops.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Position Details:
This position is located on-site on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time, Exempt staff Term-Funded position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
