Enrollment Coaches assist new students during the onboarding process and collaborate with Academic Advisors, Registrar, Office of Admissions, and Financial Aid as students matriculate at UAF. They deliver exceptional customer service to new students, aiming to enhance their onboarding experience and improve matriculation rates, ultimately contributing to student success and ongoing enrollment growth at UAF.

Minimum Qualifications:

1) Be enrolled in at least 6 UA credits.
2) have at least a 2.0 GPA.
3) completed at least one semester at UAF.
4) Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
5) Possess strong interpersonal skills, multicultural sensitivity, and effective conflict resolution abilities.
6) Able to work collaboratively within a diverse team and communicate effectively with individuals from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
7) Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong critical thinking abilities.
8) Capable of initiating, prioritizing, and completing multiple tasks with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Position Details:

  • Help new students successfully navigate the onboarding and matriculation process.

  • Ensure new students submit their transcripts and any relevant transfer credit, and complete placement testing before their first academic advising appointment.

  • Assist new students with scheduling their initial advising appointments.

  • Verify matriculation statuses. Proactively reach out to students who still need to register. Evaluate data to identify students who require assistance with their enrollment plans.

  • Connect new students with institutional resources, including Student Support Services/TRIO, Rural Student Services, Writing Center, Math Lab, Academic Coaches, Financial Services, Disability Services, ORCA, Student Engagement, and Career Services.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This recruitment is open to undergraduate students only.

This student position is 20 hours/week during the academic year with opportunities for up to 40 hours/week during the summer and pays $16.00/hour.
