Term Assistant Professor Medical Assisting

The School of Allied Health seeks an innovative, energetic individual who will work in a collaborative teaching environment in the delivery of Allied Health courses within the UAA Medical Assisting AAS/Exam Prep and Medical Office Coding OEC programs.

This position involves teaching and mentoring medical assistants, emphasizing student-centered learning, engagement, and teaching excellence. The ideal candidate should have clinical or academic teaching experience, a commitment to working with diverse populations, and familiarity with the Alaska Medical Assisting scope of practice. Strong communication skills and computer literacy are also essential.

To thrive in this role, candidates should have at least an associate's degree, two years of clinical or administrative healthcare experience, and ongoing professional development. A certified medical assistant credential, a bachelor’s degree in healthcare, teaching experience, knowledge of education theory, and local community involvement are highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Two years of clinical or administrative healthcare experience in a healthcare setting

Position Details:

This position is located on the Goose Lake Campus in Anchorage, AK. This is a full-time, term funded, 9-month faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
