The University of Alaska Anchorage’s (UAA) Student Union is seeking applications for a Seawolf Grounds Manager. Experience the rewards of working in higher education and growing your professional skills while having the flexibility to pursue your academic goals.

This position is located in UAA Department of Student Affairs in the Student Engagement Division. This role includes overseeing point-of-sale and inventory systems, processing vendor orders and payments, training and scheduling barista staff, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Flexibility to support various tasks and maintain a welcoming café environment is essential.

To thrive in this role, a successful applicant would have the following skills and experience:
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
● Experience with inventory management and vendor relations preferred.
● Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
● Capable of tasks requiring manual dexterity, including operating coffee equipment and handling perishable goods.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
● Valid driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria

Position Details:

This is a 9-month, hourly position. New hires will be placed on the UA staff temporary salary schedule (Grade 76). Average work hours are typically 20-30 hours per week. Candidates must be flexible to work both during and after coffee shop hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm).
