About the position:
As a Registration Specialist, you will join a team of knowledgeable, caring and innovative professionals working primarily behind the scenes to improve the student, faculty and staff experience at UAA. Working in the Registrar’s Office will position you at the center of policy, technology and customer service. Our team supports major technology initiatives; serves as experts on process, policy and compliance; and helps UAA stay current on emerging trends and issues in our industry. A role in the Registrar’s Office offers a solid foundation for whatever your professional aspirations at UAA (or beyond) may be.
Over time, you will develop in-depth knowledge of the registration process and the systems that support it. You will develop a comprehensive knowledge base of policies and processes as they relate to registration and serve as an expert resource in this area, providing frequent guidance, support, and issue resolution. Additionally, you will process non-degree-seeking applications that don’t automatically load into our student information system, which will provide opportunities to research and exercise independent and professional judgement. Finally, you will provide superior front-line service to students, staff and faculty, including supporting our call center.
Why we’ll love you:
- You have worked hard to earn a degree.
- You embrace technology and are willing to learn new systems.
- You enjoy exercising your critical thinking and problem-solving skills regularly.
- You have the ability to attend to detail and maintain confidentiality.
- You have experience communicating complex information to a diverse community.
- You can perform well under pressure and maintain productivity despite regular interruptions.
- You have the ability to make independent and sound judgment calls.
- You have experience presenting and creating short video tutorials, or a willingness to develop these skill sets.
Why you’ll love us:
- Work on a beautiful campus in the heart of Alaska for the state’s largest institution.
- Work/life balance. You’ll work Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm with very rare requests to support an event in the evening.
- Potential for intermittent remote work and adjusted work hours (M-F) is available.
- Tuition waivers for you and your dependents to take college-level classes and even earn a degree.
- Comprehensive medical benefits available on your first day of employment.
- Additional voluntary benefits.
- Retirement benefits.
- Paid time off.
- Support for professional development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and two years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience working in a secondary or post-secondary educational environment, or equivalent customer service environment where rules and regulations are applied to individual clients/customers.
