Join the University of Alaska Fairbanks as our Photography Operations Coordinator, where you'll help keep the university's visual storytelling running smoothly. This position combines event coordination, photography support, digital asset management, and departmental operations to ensure high-quality photography services are delivered across the university.

You'll coordinate photography requests for executive leadership, campus events, marketing initiatives, and institutional communications while managing scheduling, digital image workflows, and operational processes. Working closely with photographers, university leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners, you'll play an important role in capturing and preserving the stories that showcase the UAF community.

•Experience coordinating multiple projects, schedules, and operational workflows while effectively prioritizing competing deadlines.
•Knowledge of administrative operations, project coordination, and digital asset management principles.
•Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records, metadata, and file management systems.
•The ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, and identify opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with university leadership, faculty, staff, students, vendors, and external partners.
•Experience coordinating event logistics, photography support, or other operational activities in a fast-paced environment.
•The ability to appropriately handle confidential or sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software and technology.
•Experience with DSLR or mirrorless camera systems and photography software such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, or similar applications is preferred.
•Experience managing digital asset libraries, metadata, archival systems, or supporting communications, marketing, media, or university operations is preferred.
•The ability to lift and carry photography equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and work occasional evenings or weekends to support university events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in business, communications, marketing, photography, media, or a related field and two years of progressively responsible experience in administrative operations, event coordination, communications, photography support, or project coordination; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This is an in-office, part-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
