Kenai Peninsula College is accepting applications for an IT Services Manager.

The IT Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the IT department, leading a team, and coordinating activities and resources across multiple locations. In this role, you will also serve as a strategic advisor to the executive and leadership teams, ensuring that IT operations align with overall KPC and UAA goals. The position requires the ability to conduct research, create operational analyses and reports, and develop statistical models and norms. Additionally, you should possess expertise in programming, database management, and major systems operations, as well as in network design.

A strong knowledge of computer operations, maintenance, and telecommunications networks, including data operations, hardware, and software maintenance, is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of ethics, accountability, and excellent skills in personnel and time management, customer service, communication, and organization. Advanced knowledge of network operation and maintenance is required, including experience with WAN/LAN, high-speed networks, public telecommunications, the internet, and other network technologies. The role also involves expertise in methods for installing and maintaining network systems and infrastructure, along with an understanding of cabling standards and installation processes.

In addition, a working knowledge of active directory, exchange server, campus web servers, and other campus network services is essential. The IT Services Manager will be expected to direct the work of others, coordinating activities and resources within and across various units and campuses.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Information Technology or other related field) and 5 years progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience with LAN technologies including at least 1 year of experience in Microsoft Server environments and server administration.

CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) training or experience.

2 years of experience, or formal training equivalent, with network security.

Position Details:

This is an in-person position to be located on a KPC Campus. This is a full-time, exempt, regular staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 81, based on education and experience.
