The College of Health is seeking applications for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team and work with schools, programs, and centers to assist with the processing of a wide range of human resources related transactions. This position is integral to our college operations in helping us recruit and hire new and returning employees and by assisting with processing all of the changes to assignments that occur over the course of our employees' careers.

The Human Resources Coordinator within the UAA College of Health works within a team to advise colleagues on UA HR policies, procedures, and best practices. The Human Resources Coordinator responds to requests for employment actions and carries out a variety of tasks and processes related to hiring, onboarding, assignment changes, timesheet assistance, performance management, approval routing, and more.

To thrive in this role, you will need strong interpersonal communication skills and a willingness to learn from teammates and through regular training. You will need to be willing and able to adapt to ever-evolving process improvements and changes. You will need to interpret requests and provide information about HR-related processes and procedures to stakeholders. You should be able to stay organized, follow up with colleagues on a daily basis with the status of their requests, and to pull information from multiple sources to complete error-free forms by established deadlines. Attention to detail is of paramount importance with this role. Responsibilities range from processing routine but detailed forms and paperwork to brainstorming as part of our team on how to tackle a new process or task.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year college coursework in human resources and two years of technical human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of progressively responsible training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
