The Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support employees by providing guidance, answering questions, and connecting them with appropriate resources. This position is based on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ campus and requires on site collaboration as part of a dynamic administrative team. The role requires the ability to manage specialized HR and payroll functions while applying University, federal, and state regulations; coordinate and support recruitment processes including advertising, screening, evaluation, and referrals; analyze and resolve complex personnel issues; and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, interpret policies and procedures, work independently, and proactively pursue training to address a broad range of human resources matters. ACEP fosters innovative solutions to Alaska's energy challenges and is a gateway for energy-related activity at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
To thrive in this role, the successful candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, and working knowledge of payroll, accounting, and human resources systems, procedures, rules, and regulations. The position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the capacity to apply institutional and regulatory requirements effectively in support of daily operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and two years progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the UAF Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. Flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with University of Alaska regulations. A hybrid schedule option of four days on campus and one day of remote work may be available based on operational needs and supervisory approval. This is a full-time, non-exempt, term-funded, staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
