Facilities Services - Temporary Trades - Intergovernmental Support Agreement

This position provides general maintenance and repair support to help keep facilities and grounds safe, functional, and well maintained. Duties include sheetrock repair and taping, painting, wall treatment repairs, minor carpentry, landscaping, and other general maintenance projects as assigned. The successful candidate will be dependable, willing to learn, able to follow direction and work independently, and comfortable performing a variety of hands-on tasks. Regular and reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work the full scheduled shift are essential to this position.

This position performs work on Fort Wainwright, and the successful candidate must be able to meet all requirements necessary to obtain and maintain access to the installation.

Ability to perform general maintenance and repair work, including sheetrock repair, taping, painting, wall treatments, minor carpentry, and landscaping. Ability to safely use common hand and power tools and follow workplace safety practices.

Ability to follow instructions, learn new tasks and techniques, accept constructive feedback, and apply instruction to future work. Demonstrated initiative and ability to remain productive throughout the workday with minimal supervision. Ability to recognize when additional instruction or assistance is needed and ask appropriate questions.

Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and others. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain regular attendance and work the full assigned schedule.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet requirements necessary to access the military installation/base, as applicable to the work location.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Dependable and safety-focused
Capable of performing physical labor throughout the workday

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

This is a full-time, non-exempt temporary staff position located on Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
