The Preventative Maintenance department is looking for a field assistant to help with verifying existing equipment to tag and enter into UAF's preventive maintenance system. This recruitment is open to undergraduate students only.

The majority of the work will be in the Atkinson power plant and may extend to other facilities. The successful candidate will be able to read and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams as well as identify different types of equipment. This position requires walking down and field verifying process lines, equipment, and instrumentation and sketching corrections on piping diagrams. This job will be performed in an active power plant but is not an internship with utilities.

Facilities Services Student Assistants often times are performing tasks which require general physical activities; handling and moving objects, manual dexterity, physical coordination, strength, stamina, and working indoors or outdoors.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be eligible for Facilities Services student employment, an applicant must:

Be enrolled at UAF with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or

Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and

Have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA, or a newly enrolled student.
