Do you enjoy working in a fast paced environment? Come join the UAS Facilities Services Administrative office. As a student assistant, your working hours will be flexible around your class schedule.

Facilities Services is responsible for maintaining the UAS Juneau campus, ensuring faculty, staff, and students can focus on what matters: Student learning. This position assists in providing administrative support to the Facilities office, ensuring the Facilities crew has the support and resources necessary to keep the campus functioning and the community thriving. As a student worker, you will gain hands on experience in customer service, office logistics, and operations support.

To thrive in this role, you should be detail-oriented, enjoy working with people, and demonstrate a willingness to learn. You must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively, follow instructions given by management, and effectively communicate with the campus community.

Minimum Qualifications:

No previous experience is required, training will be provided.

To be eligible for student employment at UAS, a student must:
a. be enrolled in the University system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or
b. for employment between semesters, have successfully completed six or more UA credit hours in the preceding semester and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester; and
c. not work hours which interfere with class attendance; and
d. have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average

Position Details:

This recruitment is open to undergraduate students only.

This position is located on the UAS campus in Juneau. This is a part-time, Student Assistant 1, hourly position with pay starting at $14.19/hour.

UAS Whalesong Ad Manager Fall 2026 - Spring 2027

The Whalesong Ad Manager will oversee advertising strategies for the UAS student-run news and media organization. They will sell ads for the Whalesong website, social media pages, and any print materials. Duties include directing all advertising, developing and updating advertising materials, implementing advertising campaigns, and managing invoices/accounting for Whalesong under the direction of advisors. Personal transportation is highly recommended, as the advertising manager will interact with the larger Juneau community. Applicants will be talking with strangers about Whalesong and following up on invoices, so effective oral and written communication skills are a must. Applicants are expected to organize data and be comfortable using Microsoft Office and WordPress. This position is a wonderful opportunity for those with considerable people, sales, and organizational skills.
