Events and Engagement Assistant

Join UAA’s Alumni and Community Engagement team and help create meaningful experiences that connect Seawolves and community members with the university. The Events & Engagement Assistant will provide hands-on support for events, outreach, marketing and special projects, including the Seawolf Business Directory. This position is a great opportunity to contribute to a variety of engaging programs while collaborating with campus partners, vendors and members of the UAA community. The Events & Engagement Assistant supports UAA’s Alumni and Community Engagement department within University Advancement. This position assists with the planning and delivery of events, program outreach, marketing efforts, special projects and day-to-day administrative needs. The department builds meaningful connections among UAA alumni, community members and the university through events, programs and engagement opportunities that strengthen the Seawolf community.

To thrive in this role, the applicant must be organized, dependable and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and customer service skills are important, along with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, campus partners, vendors and community members. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, flexible and ready to jump in wherever needed—from preparing event materials and promoting programs to providing hands-on support during events.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduation and at least two years office/administrative experience and event planning. Associate Degree or higher preferred.

Position Details:

This is a part-time, non-exempt staff position located at the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. The rate of pay is $22.36 an hour.
