To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of guidelines, regulations, and labor market trends at the federal, state, and institutional levels. They should have expertise in curriculum development, reentry processes, and correctional education practices, along with strong project management skills, including program development, implementation, evaluation, and budget management. Excellent collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills are essential, as well as proficiency in data analysis and reporting. The candidate must be adept at policy implementation and development, navigating complex regulatory environments, and conducting labor market research. The capacity to recruit and supervise instructional staff and incarcerated inmates, establish and maintain employer partnerships, and continuously improve educational programs based on evaluations and feedback are essential for success in this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in education, criminal justice, or a related field and six years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to correctional education, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Advanced degree preferred.
Position Details:
This position is located on the main location of UAF Community & Technical College in downtown Fairbanks. Work perform will be on-site. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 82, based on education and experience.
