The University of Alaska is seeking a DevOps/Platform Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. This role focuses on automation, infrastructure-as-code, and enabling teams through scalable, secure, and reliable platform services.

This position is part of the Platforms team within OIT and is responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving shared infrastructure services that support the University of Alaska system. The role spans both cloud and on-prem environments, including AWS, Azure, VMware, NetApp, F5 BIG-IP, and Active Directory / Entra ID. Experience implementing monitoring, security controls, and disaster recovery solutions is important, as well as familiarity with integrating identity systems and applying access controls across environments. Candidates should be comfortable working across multiple technologies and contributing to automation, standardization, and platform enablement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Information Technology or other related field) or an equivalent combination of training and experience and at least four years of advanced experience (to include: advanced experience designing and supporting enterprise infrastructure across cloud and/or on-prem (hybrid) environments).
