The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) welcomes applications for the position of Curriculum and Publications Specialist in the Office of the Registrar. We are looking for a highly-motivated, team-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, an attention to detail, and (ideally) previous exposure to database and content management software. Applicants should appreciate the structure policies and regulation provide and be ready to operate in a fast-paced, technology-rich environment aimed at generating efficiencies. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the university curriculum and providing a high standard of customer service. As the Curriculum and Publications Specialist, you will review and process course and program changes, update the catalog, process semester class schedules and maintain the content management software designed to support these functions. You will provide technical assistance to university personnel engaged in these functions. You will regularly interact with faculty, scheduling staff, students and technology experts. You will run reports and analyze data.

To thrive in this role, you will need to be able to interpret academic policies and procedures for diverse audiences. You need current experience (within 3-5 years) and solid command of office technology, preferably including web applications, database management and SQL. Ability to communicate effectively, handle confidential information, and strong organizational skills will also make you successful in this job.

Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate degree or equivalent; baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution is strongly preferred
Previous experience working in accredited institution of higher education. Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, calendaring, email, and web browsers within the last 3-5 years is required. Familiarity with complex web applications, database management systems and SQL within the last 3-5 years is preferred.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
