Are you passionate about empowering students to achieve their goals? We’re seeking a dynamic and dedicated College Success Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you’ll serve as a vital resource for students, guiding them through their academic journey and connecting them with the support and tools they need to thrive. If you’re a proactive communicator with exceptional organizational skills and a commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive environment, we want to hear from you! Join us in making a meaningful impact on students' lives.

Kuskokwim Campus (KuC) is a branch of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) located in Bethel, Alaska. Completely off the road system and four hundred miles west of Anchorage, Bethel is a hub community for forty-seven Yup’ik villages in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. Village life is driven by traditional subsistence fishing, hunting and gathering combined with a modern cash economy. By state law, there is a K-12 school in every village of at least ten students, so virtually every high school student is guaranteed education in their home village. However, the small student numbers dictate a small teaching staff at the high school level, with the principal and one teacher sometimes covering all subject areas. Students who have taken college coursework while in high school (“dual credit”) are more likely to enroll and succeed in college.

The KuC College Success Coordinator (CSC) will develop and improve course offerings for all of KuC’s remote learners including high school dual enrollment students. The CSC will commit forty percent of work hours to manage this Title III grant project and will be expected to report on Title III grant activities and progress of these goals and objectives.  This position will instruct and mentor adjunct instructors, not only in how to navigate the university system and follow university expectations but in teaching practices in general.  Conduct professional development training for adjunct instructors three times a semester: prior to the start of the term while instructors are setting up their courses, another session pathway through the semester as instructors prepare to submit midterm grades, and a final session near the end of the semester as instructors finish up their classes and prepare to submit final grades. The CSC will develop a rapport with the adjunct faculty and create a relationship that encourages adjuncts to reach out with questions or concerns throughout the semester. The goal is to have one main point of contact at KuC to which adjunct faculty can direct questions, improving support and speeding up how quickly questions are answered.

This position will travel to regional villages to connect with students, area school districts, and tribal organizations to guide them through the initial steps of participating in the university system.
