The Care Team Case Manager is a key member of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Dean of Students Office. This position is a member of the UAA Care Teams and closely collaborates with the Student Health & Counseling Center, Disability Support Services, and Residence Life. This position provides: 1) case management services, 2) updates Care Team records, 3) consults with students, faculty and staff, 4) provides support to the Dean of Students Office, and 5) provides outreach and training.

The Care Team Case Manager is a 40-hour per week, 12-month, term-funded position.

This position works in the Dean of Students office at UAA providing comprehensive case management services for students, including arranging, coordinating, and advocating for students in need. You will follow the UAA Care Team manual, conduct intake reports, and evaluate each case with a trauma-informed care approach. Additionally this position will document case details, submit reports, and participate in the UAA Care Team and Residence Life Care Team.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong organizational, planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, alongside strategic thinking and resource management. Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and respond to crises with sound judgment. Your experience with trauma-informed advocacy, culturally relevant training, and working with diverse groups will be crucial in fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment. You will collaborate with students, staff, faculty, administration, parents, and other stakeholders while drawing on your knowledge of working with adolescents and young adults. Proficiency with technology, including presentation software, Microsoft Office, and databases, is required. A flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, will be necessary to meet the needs of the role.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline such as human services, psychology, sociology, education, or social work and three years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

A master's degree from an accredited institution in college student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, public health, psychology, social work or other related field is strongly preferred.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
