Rural community tutors provide scheduled instruction and tutoring to adult learners in the Bristol Bay Region. The tutor conducts assessments, develops study plans, and provides instruction in subjects including, but not limited to: math, reading, writing, science, social studies, English language acquisition, GED Test preparation, computer skills, and college and career readiness. Tutors are supervised by the Adult Education Program Coordinator.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Good academic standing● High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma required
○ TABE or Locator placement qualifying Reading & Math scores (Locator A or Reading 600+ and Math 630+)
● 20+ academic credit from accredited college/university preferred
● Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
This is a part-time, 9-month, non-exempt temporary staff position. New hires will be placed on the UA temporary staff salary schedule, Grade 27_75, based on education and experience.
