Are you passionate about your UAF experience and eager to share it with others? The Office of Admissions is looking for enthusiastic, engaged students to become Student Ambassadors—the face and voice of UAF to future Nanooks!
As a Student Ambassador, you’ll play a vital role in welcoming prospective students and their families, leading campus tours, answering questions, and creating meaningful connections that showcase the spirit of UAF. Ambassadors are inspirational role models and key members of our recruitment team, helping others see what makes our university truly special.

To thrive as a Student Ambassador, you should:
Be an effective communicator—both in writing and speaking—with the ability to engage and connect with people from all walks of life. You should be organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong time management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to multitask are key. Proficiency with basic computer programs and a professional yet approachable attitude are essential. We're looking for individuals who bring positivity, warmth, and enthusiasm to every interaction.
A commitment of at least one full semester is required (with preference given to those available for the full academic year). Priority will also be given to applicants who:
• Have completed at least one semester at UAF
• Possess a strong, well-rounded knowledge of UAF’s academic programs, student life, and extracurricular opportunities
• Are involved in campus organizations
• Understand the admissions process and what it means to be part of the UAF community

Minimum Qualifications:

1) Be enrolled in at least 6 UA credits.
2) have at least a 2.0 GPA.
3) completed at least one semester at UAF already

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks.  This is a part-time, student assistant position, starting rate of $16.00/hr.
