Your core responsibilities will be supporting the research activities of the department through processing approved card purchases; checking out the custodial card to approved personnel; uploading documentation to JP Morgan; tracking purchases and requisitions on the department Asana software.
Additional duties include tracking fiscal information including expense posting and payments in banner; entering financial tracking information in Asana; and filing financial documents.
A portion of your day will involve shared duties with other office administrative team members performing routine tasks such as answering the phone; taking and distributing messages; maintaining digital files; accessing and referencing our internal processes website, operating basic office equipment; and preparing and reviewing documents based on templates for standardized communication including items such as spelling, grammatical and calculation accuracy.
To thrive in this role, candidates must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to work independently. Customer service and communication skills both oral and written are essential. Following fiscal and purchasing policies, rules and regulations with the ability to analyze expenditures and perform technical accounting functions will be indispensable in this role. Basic financial skills and understanding a modular relational database (Banner) is needed. Intermediate computer program usage in both the Microsoft and Google suites will be important for working in cross-platform processes. Research and database skills will be applied when working with departmental software.
This is an entry level temporary position with the opportunity to become a permanent position and advancement. We are willing to train, if you are a flexible team player willing to learn.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School graduation and six months fiscal related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt temporary staff position. Salary will start at a Grade 75, and is negotiable based on education and experience.
All finalist applicants will be required to complete an Elite Skills test for accounting.
