UAA Allied Health Adjunct Faculty

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Knowledge of accepted instruction methods.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Public speaking skills.
• Customer service skills.

Candidates will be evaluated on a) the suitability of their academic preparation, b) past teaching experience, c) expertise and/or clinical experience relevant to the effective teaching of their specific field and d) the potential for providing high quality instruction to a diverse undergraduate student population. Must possess interpersonal skills to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, faculty, administration, and the general public.

Distance delivery may play an important part of the UAA Program; the applicant must have the ability to provide classroom instruction and/or clinical teaching in courses pertinent to health fields in traditional and/or distance-delivery environments. Instructional design support is available. Experience in curriculum development, web-based course design and delivery, technology use in the classroom, as well as didactic classroom instruction is preferred. Experience in clinical education of students and clinical sites, student evaluation, advising and counseling in professional discipline are desired.

Experience leading or working in a diversified workforce in a multi-cultural setting. Preferred Experience & Education: Required Experience & Education:

Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Licensure or certification in the health-related field may be required.

Salary Information:

Salary is based on the number of previous semesters teaching experience within the University of Alaska.
