Prince William Sound College is looking for a part-time, temporary program assistant for the Marine Natural Resources Technician program for the Spring 2024 semester. As the Program Assistant, you will plan and lead field camps for students, and also serve as the point of contact for students.

The position requires the alignment of curriculum and programs, as well as meeting with external stakeholders. The selected applicant may also be hired as the adjunct instructor for various marine biology and mariculture-related courses.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge and skills pertaining to mariculture and the marine sciences. Field work in mariculture and marine sciences required. Evidence of exceptional leadership, work ethic, integrity, and high moral standards through references. Knowledge of or experience working with youth. Well-developed problem-solving skills; demonstrated knowledge of general office procedures, equipment, and records maintenance. Strong, broad-based computer proficiency. Ability to work independently, exercise good judgement and discretion and maintain confidentiality. Supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent administrative procedures, practices and time management skills. A strong attention to organization, detail and follow-through. Ability to work independently with initiative. Preferred Experience & Education:
Practice in experiential learning. Experience in curriculum and program alignment as well as working with external stakeholders. Experience with coordinating programs and/or camps as well as experience in a supervisory role.
Required Experience & Education:

Master's degree or higher in the biological sciences required. This eligibility requirement may also be met with a related master's degree with at least 18 graduate credits in biology. Ph.D. preferred. Qualifying earned degrees from the U.S. must be conferred by institutions of higher education which are accredited by one of the six US regional accrediting associations. Unofficial transcripts may be submitted with the application; successful applicants must provide official transcripts documenting academic credentials required for the position as a condition of employment.

A valid driver's license and clean driving required in compliance with UA safe driving criteria is required.

Salary Information:

This is a part-time, temporary position. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 81, based on education and experience.
